Meldrum Theatre at the Einar Nielsen Fieldhouse

Meldrum Theatre (at Einar Nielsen Fieldhouse) is a recent, intimate theatre space on the University of Utah campus housed inside the historic Einar Nielsen Fieldhouse. It opened in spring 2024 and was funded largely through private philanthropic support. It’s an intimate performance venue with around 375–387 seats designed to bring audiences closer to the action than larger theatres. The stage setup is flexible — often a thrust configuration with seating on three sides — which makes the experience more immersive and engaging for both performers and audiences.

The space includes modern amenities like an orchestra pit, lobby, dressing rooms, control booth, and sound mix station, blending professional infrastructure with a cozy feel.
