About
Machu Picchu: Journey to the Lost City is a free-roam virtual reality (VR) expedition at City Creek Center, 50 S. Main Street, Suite 255, Salt Lake City, UT 84101. The experience uses award-winning VR technology to present a 4D reconstruction of Machu Picchu, allowing participants to walk through the ancient Incan citadel and interact with key landmarks. The interactive journey features cinematic storytelling, immersive visuals, sound, and motion technology. Narration is provided by Terry Crews as the voice of 'Teri the Robot,' who serves as a virtual guide throughout the experience.
The event is suitable for individuals, families, school groups, and corporate teams. The venue is wheelchair accessible and VR equipment can be adapted for people with reduced mobility.
- Duration: Around 45 minutes (plan for about 1 hour total including check-in)
- Age requirement: 10+ (minimum age to participate is 8; most appropriate for ages 11+; children aged 8–11 must be accompanied; under 8 not allowed)
- Language: English and Spanish
- Location: 2nd floor of City Creek Center, east side of S. Main Street, near Earthbound Trading Co.; indoors and air-conditioned
Tickets can be purchased via the Fever app, the Fever website, or at the on-site box office (advance booking is recommended). Payment methods accepted on site are credit and debit cards. Refunds are not permitted. Date changes are possible up to 48 hours in advance, pending availability. Tickets are valid for one entry.
The experience accommodates groups of up to 6 per session, with larger group and school bookings available by arrangement. For school or large group bookings, preferential pricing and tailored experiences are available by contacting the organizer.
Free lockers are provided for personal belongings; backpacks are not permitted during the experience. There are break/lobby seating areas but the experience itself is a walkthrough. Restrooms are available in the mall.
No food or beverages are permitted inside. Photo and video for personal use are allowed, but flash photography and tripods are prohibited. Service dogs are permitted for seated attendees only, due to safety reasons.
Parking is available in the City Creek Center garage, including ADA spaces. The closest public transportation is the City Center TRAX station or nearby bus stops.
