Strength training changes the body—and also how we think, feel, and relate to ourselves. Join professional trainers Wesley Larsen and Keileigh Johnson in this workshop exploring strength training as more than a physical practice, looking at how experience, motivation, self-worth, and language shape our relationship with movement and support mental well-being.

  • Strength as Experience: Centering how strength training feels over time, and the meaning we attach to building capacity in our bodies.
  • Motivation & Worthiness: Exploring why consistency isn’t just about willpower, and how values and self-belief influence our relationship with exercise.
  • Body, Mind & Self-Worth: Reflecting on how strength, confidence, and identity intersect in movement.
  • Language & Sustainability: Examining how all-or-nothing thinking can undermine motivation—and how more supportive language encourages long-term practice.
  • Lived Experience: Sharing trainer insights on how strength training supports mental health across life stages, without framing movement as a cure or obligation.
  • Reflection & Integration: Creating space to consider what strength and movement mean personally, with appreciation for effort, growth, and capacity.
