Lost Sheep Running Club

Hey all,

This Tuesday, March 31st, we will meet in the Rose Garden parking lot at Sugarhouse Park at 5:30 am. We'll jog around the park as a warm-up, then start the work.

• Workout: 5 x 1 mile repeats with a 3:00 recovery.

This is going to be tough, but better with friends!

Also, I want to give anyone who reads this a heads up: a decade after the passing of John Straley will be the inaugural John M. Straley Memorial 10k.

• When: Saturday, August 8th, 8:00 am.
• Where: Start at the intersection of 1300 E and Yale (there is a memorial fountain for John here).
• Notes: This will be extremely unofficial — no cops, no road closures, no aid stations, just us.
• Fundraiser: I’m going to start a fundraiser as well for anyone who wishes to donate, likely to a hospital for cancer research.
• Logistics: I’ll send out several reminders, a map of the course, and a sign-up for a post-race breakfast buffet.

Whether you knew John personally, or not, by being a member of this run club, he has impacted you and your running career to some degree. I want this to be a celebration of a life well lived, and a human well loved.
