About

SGMOA’s annual Day of the Dead celebration takes place on the Día de Muertos holiday. This free, all-ages community event welcomes the whole family.

November 2, 2026, 5:00–8:00 pm

Theme: “Remember Me,” honoring individuals who have impacted our lives.

All submitted artwork must relate to the theme to be considered for the exhibition. Artists are encouraged to interpret the theme in their own way, exploring ideas of memory, remembrance, family, relationships, legacy, and the lasting impact of those who have shaped our lives. The winner will receive a prize.

Submission guidelines:
- 2D artwork must be framed and ready to hang with wire; no sawtooth hangers.
- AI-generated artwork will not be accepted.
- Maximum of two entries per artist.
- Artwork must have been made within the last two years.

The St. George Museum of Art reserves the right to decline artwork that differs substantially from the work represented in the online application, including changes in content, size, materials, or presentation.

Because this is a family-friendly, City-sponsored event held in a public venue, all artwork must be appropriate for a general audience. Museum staff will make final determinations regarding exhibition suitability and may refuse work that does not meet the guidelines or is deemed inappropriate for display.

Important dates:
- Online submissions: September 15–October 15, 2026
- Accepted artists notified by email: October 20, 2026
- Artwork drop-off: October 21–30, 2026, during museum operating hours (Tuesday–Saturday, 11:00 am–6:00 pm)
- Exhibition: November 2, 2026, 5:00–8:00 pm
- Artwork pickup: November 2 at the conclusion of the event through November 9, 2026, during museum operating hours (Tuesday–Saturday, 11:00 am–6:00 pm)
