When Simply Three takes the stage in Ogden, the first thing you hear is a violin riff you swear you’ve heard on the radio, and within seconds you realize it’s “Sweet Child O’ Mine” played on three acoustic strings. That’s the trick with this trio. Glen McDaniel (violin), Zack Clark (cello), and Nicholas Villalobos (bass) take songs you already know by heart and rebuild them from the ground up. Coldplay’s “Fix You,” Hozier’s “Take Me to Church,” Led Zeppelin’s “Kashmir,” Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody.” No backing tracks. No drums. Just three classically trained musicians, three instruments, and arrangements so full you’ll forget there isn’t a full band onstage.

Across their channel, they’ve racked up 330 million views and 1.6 million subscribers. OneRepublic praised their version of “Counting Stars.” Grammy-nominated Janelle Monáe called their renditions “an honor.” The Boston Philharmonic said they have “what it takes.” All three hold music performance degrees from Arizona State University, and every arrangement is their own.
