This introductory figure drawing class provides students with a foundational understanding of the human form, focusing on proportion, anatomy, and gesture drawing. Working from a live, clothed model, students will learn how to observe and capture the structure and movement of the body, while honing their skills in sketching and rendering. Through guided exercises and practice, beginners will develop the confidence to draw the human figure in various poses and from different angles, with an emphasis on capturing the figure’s overall rhythm and energy. No prior experience is necessary—just bring your enthusiasm and creativity!
The first half of class will be spent learning how to draw figures from drawings, and the second half of class will be learning how to draw figures from life with a clothed figure model.
