Level: Advanced (Ages 8–12)
Prerequisite: Basic knife skills and prior kitchen experience recommended.
Our Advanced Junior Chef Camp is designed for the student who is comfortable in the kitchen but ready to tackle professional techniques. This isn't just about following recipes—it’s about understanding the "Why" behind the food. Over four days, we will dive into the science of emulsification and the art of "mise en place."
Skills and Techniques:
- Learn basic cooking techniques and kitchen safety
- Explore different flavors and ingredients
- Work as a team to prepare and serve delicious food the right way

- Day 1 — Intro To Pasta:

- Day 3 — Southern Cooking:

- Jalapeno Corn Bread
- How to Butcher/Brine Chicken
- How to Fry Chicken
- Day 4 — Steak House:
- Picanha Steak
- Smashed/Fried Potatoes
- Roasted Veggies
- Steak Sauce
- Chocolate Mousse

What to expect in a hands-on Harmons Cooking School class:
- You’ll work together with other students in a fun, hands-on environment led by our professional chef instructors.
- You will be working in small groups, sharing workstations and equipment.
- Class time is noted above.
- Kids will be standing, cooking, and working for most of the class. Please have them wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes and have long hair tied back. For safety precautions, have kids wear long pants; short sleeves are okay, but not sleeveless.
