Freedom’s Light Festival is a free, 3-day event in Bountiful, Utah, celebrating American history and the United States Constitution. Scheduled for September 17–19, 2026, this once-in-a-generation event marks the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
The festival brings history to life with live reenactments, hands-on activities, and interactive storytelling. Attendees can meet portrayals of Founding Fathers and Mothers, Revolutionary leaders and heroines, and colonial artisans such as blacksmiths, coopers, and calligraphers. There are continuous demonstrations and recitations throughout each day.
Scheduled attractions include:
- Booths open daily
- Recitations of the Declaration of Independence
- Reenactments featuring figures like Frederick Douglass
- Soldier marches and cannon/musket firing demonstrations
- Historical musicals, open dance, and food booths
Each day has unique programming:
- Thursday, Sept 17: 9:00am–4:00pm
- Friday, Sept 18: 9:00am–9:00pm (including evening programs and dances)
- Saturday, Sept 19: 9:00am–4:00pm
This event is designed for adults, kids, teens, families, homeschoolers, and all who are interested in experiencing the nation's founding in an engaging, educational way. No registration or tickets are required.
