Chef Laura
Mocktails are more than just fruit juice and soda—let us help you become the resident mixologist of your social circle! Balancing fruitiness, sweetness, acidity, heat, tartness, smoke, aromatics, and carbonation is a lot easier than it sounds. With the holidays around the corner, break out of the casserole mold and bring an incredible mocktail the entire family can enjoy. This isn’t just about basic recipes; you’ll learn the skills it takes to make a balanced mocktail. It’s a step above breaking out the 12-pack for every occasion.
You’ll learn:
- Inverted fruit sugar syrups
- Balancing sweet, sour, tart, acidic, warming, and cooling flavors
- Adding carbonation and adjusting texture
- Dramatic garnishes
- Creating layers of color and texture
A chef-crafted dinner is served before the mocktail session, featuring Cooking School comfort food favorites: mini chicken pot pies, gourmet grilled cheese sliders, and a side of Utah corn and chipotle chowder.
What to expect in a hands-on Harmons Cooking School class:
- You’ll work together with other students in a hands-on environment led by professional chef instructors.
- You’ll work in small groups, sharing workstations and equipment.
- Classes are 2 to 2½ hours unless otherwise noted above.
- You’ll be standing, cooking, and working for most of the class. Wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes and tie back long hair.
- Seats are priced per person.
