About
The Salt Lake Book Festival is a literary event taking place on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at The Gateway in Salt Lake City, Utah. The festival welcomes everyone from devoted readers to first-timers and families of all ages, and is family-friendly and accessible to the public.
Programs include high-energy author conversations, panel discussions, book signings, and sessions across multiple stages:
- Main stage (around 400 people)
- 200-seat stage at Kiln co-working space
- Family-focused stage with story time for young readers
The event will also feature a curated marketplace with independent booksellers, local makers, and vendors.
The main festival day is free and open to the public. Select programming and festival areas, such as certain stage events and "The Prologue" evening on Friday, October 16 at the downtown library, require tickets. Full ticketing details will be announced as they become available.
4,500 attendees are anticipated for this inaugural year. The event encourages community involvement, welcoming visitors, volunteers, vendors, and partners.
