Slow Stitching with Jennifer Wilkerson from Brosgé Clothing at CREATE Community Stuidos- Troy

Intuitive stitching, or slow stitching, is the practice of hand stitching with no specific end goal in mind. It involves combining colors, layers, and textures with the meditative rhythm of hand stitching as a ritual to ground, inspire, and play.

In this class, participants will work with reclaimed fabrics and threads to explore the process and learn how it can be incorporated more widely into a variety of projects. Supplies will be provided, but feel free to bring and/or share any materials you may wish to incorporate. Students will leave with supplies to continue their practice. Supplies are included in the cost of the workshop.

This workshop is part of Shared Threads, a collaboration exhibition between the 2023–24 Artists in Residence at Arlene’s and Brosgé Clothing, on view at CREATE Community Studios – Troy from April 2026 through May 2026.
