Learn to Fish

Learn the basics of spin fishing with a park educator in this beginner-friendly program.

The program will start indoors with an introduction to:
- fishing gear
- bait and lures
- simple knot tying
- fish handling
- local fishing regulations

Then we will head outside to practice casting and, with a little luck, experience catch-and-release fishing.

This program is open to all ages and is perfect for anyone curious about fishing, looking to build confidence, or simply wanting to spend time by the water trying something new.

Please register in advance by calling the park office: (518) 793-0511. A limited number of fishing rods will be available; participants are welcome to bring their own equipment if they have it. This is a free program. Registration is required.
