About
Congolese-born Ricardo Lemvo is a legendary music pioneer blending the irresistible sounds of Congo’s soukous and rumba, Angola’s semba and kizomba, and other Afro-Latin rhythms.
Lemvo hails from São Salvador Do Congo (M’Banza-Kongo), Zaire, in Northern Angola, and he grew up in Congo-Kinshasa where he was introduced to Cuban music by a cousin who owned a large collection of vintage Cuban LPs.
Ricardo’s music is the embodiment of the Afro-Latin Diaspora and he is equally at home singing in:
- Spanish
- Portuguese
- Kimbundu
- Turkish
- Lingala
- Kikongo
He has refined his craft and vision, raising his joyous voice with strength, singing songs that celebrate life, and inspiring audiences to let loose and dance away their worries.
“Lemvo’s music is an effortless and beguiling expression of his world-wandering life, and the deep history it traverses.” - AfroPopWorldwide
