About
Come hang out at Context Collective’s intentionally curated gallery and studio for an all-ages afternoon of Community Clay Play!
Clay Play Day is a grant-supported, open-studio clay experience designed to keep hands-on making accessible, welcoming, and community-centered. Thanks to funding from the Troy Savings Bank Community What If… Grant, we’re able to offer six recurring Clay Play sessions throughout 2026. This support provides materials, instruction, and studio access while keeping the experience low-barrier and sustainable.
Participants register for one of two time slots:
- 11p–1p
- 2p–4p
Your $25 reservation includes basic handbuilding instruction, clay, tools, glaze, and two kiln firings. Clay Play is open format: you’ll receive a brief orientation, then have time to explore, experiment, and make at your own pace, with guidance available throughout the session.
Finished pieces will be glazed and fired after the session and ready approximately 3–4 weeks after Clay Play Day. Participants will receive a pickup notification by email using the address provided at Eventbrite registration. Please make sure your contact information is accurate at checkout.
Clay Play is open to all experience levels. No prior ceramics experience is required. This session is ideal for curious beginners, returning makers, and anyone looking for a relaxed, hands-on creative reset.
Supported in part by the Troy Savings Bank Charitable Foundation. Refunds are available up to 7 days before the event.
