About
Listen to a painting and see a concert!
You're invited to a one-night-only pop-up art show where you can listen to a painting and see a concert of artworks and songs by Kim Tateo. The entire event will take place in the Black Box Theater at the Arts Center of the Capital Region.
Please be mindful of the instruments in the center of the stage. We'll block off this area, but viewers will be encouraged to view the paintings on the walls. This event is family-friendly.
Admission is free. Donations are welcome and will be shared among the performing musicians.
Loose schedule of events:
- 5:30 PM: Doors open
- 6–7:00 PM: Art show and reception. During this time, you'll be able to experience the paintings and songs. Bring a pair of headphones that can connect to a phone to listen to the paintings. QR codes next to each painting will let you scan and listen while you’re viewing.
- Around 7–7:15 PM, we will shift the vibe, and you'll get to experience the whole album as we perform it live. The live show runs until approximately 8:00–8:30 PM.
A limited number of vinyl records will be available for purchase that evening, pressed locally by Burlington Record Pressing. If you live far away and would like to reserve a record, you can do so here, and I'll mail it to you after the show.
About the project
Sparkle Garden is the name of the accidental band that was created because of the brilliant collaborators who helped add their genius to this project. I've always likened my friends to a garden, but having them help bring my music to life like this was like the prettiest blooms, hence becoming the “Sparkle Garden.”
Thank you to everyone who contributed to the record and to those performing the night of the show (noted with asterisks).

moon/stone is the name of this album, which I started in earnest in 2023 but revisited this winter. The album is really about a healing journey, perhaps my own. It's about embracing big feelings, remembering forgotten dreams, and finding hope through it all. Our lives are full of contrast, and it's these experiences that help redirect us to joy and love.
This project is made possible with funding from the New York State Council on the Arts. Special thanks to the Arts Center of the Capital Region for serving as fiscal sponsor and hosting the event.
