About

The Moynihan Institute's Middle Eastern Studies Program presents Ramzi Aburedwan—musical director, bouzouk, and backing vocals—with his ensemble, Dal'Ouna:

  • Ziad Ben Youssef, oud and backing vocals
  • Michael Geyre, accordion and keyboard
  • Youssef Hbeisch, percussion

Featuring Mona Miari, voice.

Created in 2000 by Ramzi Aburedwan, the Dal'Ouna Ensemble features original compositions alongside a wide-ranging repertoire of classical and folkloric Arab and Palestinian music. Bringing together musicians from different regions, Dal'Ouna takes audiences on a journey through the Levant's vast musical universe, which also forged the history of Palestinian music.

This event is co-sponsored by the Anthropology Department, the Program for the Advancement of Research on Conflict and Collaboration (PARCC), the International Relations Program, the Setnor School of Music, and Newhouse CODE^SHIFT.
