Colonial Tea Party
1 p.m. at the Chapman. Free.
Step back in time to the 1770s at our Colonial Tea Party! Participants will enjoy a reading of "The Boston Tea Party" by Pamela Duncan Edwards, followed by tea (or lemonade and hot chocolate) and period-inspired snacks, like those enjoyed in colonial times, and have a chance to practice your proper "tea manners" that would have been expected in the 18th century.
The fun continues with hands-on activities, including colonial games like hoop & stick and nine-pin bowling on the Chapman front lawn (weather permitting). If the weather doesn’t cooperate, we’ll head into the gallery for a special scavenger hunt.
Colonial-era dress is encouraged but not required. Participants may bring a doll, teddy bear, or other small stuffed animal, if they would like.
This program is intended for children ages 5-9 but is open to all. Parental participation is encouraged, and supervision is required.
This program is free but does require registration. Registration is required by Wednesday, July 15, by 4 p.m.
To register, please call (518)793-2826.
