About
Join WMHT Public Media for a special premiere screening of the WMHT original one-hour documentary Feeding the American Revolution on Tuesday, December 8th at 7pm at Universal Preservation Hall in Saratoga.
Food has long been a tool of protest, identity, and unity. Feeding the American Revolution explores how Revolutionary-era foodways tell the story of America’s formation, from the political symbolism of tea and chocolate to the patriotic significance of celebratory cakes and cheeses. Hosted by art and culinary historian Nancy Siegel, author of Political Appetites: The Power of Food in Revolutionary America, the documentary takes audiences through historical recipes, edible artifacts, and firsthand accounts, showing how culinary traditions shaped the political and social landscape of the time.
Following the documentary, Nancy Siegel will be joined in discussion by WMHT Producer Nicole Van Slyke Kubisch.
