Peak Jazz Series: The Levin Brothers

For over a decade, brothers Tony Levin (bass) and Pete Levin (keys) have been delighting jazz lovers as The Levin Brothers. They are a dynamic quartet originally formed as a tribute to the elegant 1950s stylings of Oscar Pettiford and Julius Watkins. Today their sound blends nostalgic cool jazz, soulful originals, and reimagined covers of Peter Gabriel, Steely Dan, Paul Simon, Ralph Towner, and more.

From intimate clubs to major jazz festivals, The Levin Brothers have kept their sound fresh by rotating a stellar lineup of guest musicians over the years, including:
- Erik Lawrence
- David Spinozza
- Jeff Ciampa
- Ali Ryerson
- Ken Gioffre

In recent tours they’ve found a perfect musical match with saxophone virtuoso Pat LaBarbera and drummer Jeff "Siege" Siegel. For years Pat was a featured soloist with the Buddy Rich band and was also a member of Elvin Jones' quartet.

In January 2024 they hit the road for a 14-show West Coast tour stretching from Southern California to Vancouver and ending in Seattle. By the tour's end the band was truly on fire—and now they’re bringing that same magic our way, including sax virtuoso Pat LaBarbera.

This Caffè Lena performance is part of a Northeast spring tour that marks a long-awaited return for The Levin Brothers. With Tony back from his global tour with Peter Gabriel and Stickmen, and Pete fresh off his European gigs with the Gil Evans Remembered Band, the group is reunited and ready to play.

Expect a night of musical mastery, brotherly banter, and deep grooves from four world-class players who bring decades of experience and a whole lot of heart to every performance.
