November 21st @ 9pm – Eric Ciarmello Quartet

Eric was born and raised in Rotterdam, NY. He attended The College of Saint Rose, where he received a degree in Music Education with a minor in Jazz Studies. During that time, he performed with the Alex Torres Latin Orchestra and the Joey Thomas Big Band. He was also selected for the Mid-Atlantic Collegiate Jazz Orchestra, made up of top collegiate musicians from across the East Coast, including students from New School, Manhattan School of Music, and Berklee.

After graduating, Eric worked for Princess Cruise Lines as a woodwind specialist, performing with musicians throughout the South Pacific, Southeast Asia, and Japan. He later moved to New York City, where he taught and performed for several years.

Eric now lives upstate and is the Elementary Band Director at Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk. He also teaches privately at Blue Sky Music Studios. He performs around the Albany area, mainly with Ten Most Wanted, and as a sideman in various groups. He also leads his own quartet and trio.

Eric has been composing for many years, and the group’s sound reflects a wide array of influences. The Eric Ciarmello Quartet features Eric Ciarmello on tenor saxophone, Kevin Carey on piano, Brad Monkell on upright bass, and Matt Neidbalski on drums. They perform mostly original music, along with modern jazz tunes and standards. The group will be recording its debut album later this year.
