Met Opera ENCORE in HD – Mozart’s Magic Flute Holiday Presentation

The Met’s abridged, English-language version of Mozart’s The Magic Flute made history in December 2006 as the first-ever Live in HD transmission. Julie Taymor’s production returns to cinemas this holiday season for a special encore presentation.

Mozart’s heartwarming fairy tale follows the adventures of the noble prince Tamino and his lovable sidekick, the bird catcher Papageno, on their quest to rescue the princess Pamina. Taymor, the Tony Award–winning director of Broadway’s The Lion King, gives Mozart’s beloved fable a whimsical setting with dazzling puppetry and costumes.
