FREE EVENT: The Fateful Hour
Location
About
Walk into the Bardavon and back in time to The Fateful Hour, a thrilling recreation of the role Poughkeepsie played in the ratification of the US Constitution and the creation of the Bill of Rights.
Join us for the Poughkeepsie Big Read 2026 Finale! Judge Al Rosenblatt’s drama, directed by Roger H. Simon, is charged with tension as Anti-Federalist Governor George Clinton and Federalist Alexander Hamilton argue the reins of power. Delegates Robert Livingston, John Jay and Melachton Smith have ideas, and “cameos” from others will challenge them all. Without this historically important hour in Poughkeepsie, there may have been no Bill of Rights today!
This is a free event. Free tickets will be available to pick up from Poughkeepsie Public Library District locations and the Bardavon Box Office beginning October 15. Tickets will also be given out on the day of the show when entering the theater.
For more information, call the box office at 845-339-6088 or 845-473-2072.
There is no elevator at either theater. Call or email the box office to arrange ADA seating.
