ART & MOVEMENT PROGRAM SERIES at Albany Center Gallery
This free and open to the public program series celebrates movement, rhythm, wellness, and creative expression through community-centered experiences and workshops. In collaboration with regional artists and movement practitioners, this series invites participants of all backgrounds to connect through dance, music, and mindfulness.
Ages 18+. No prior experience necessary.
Free and open to the public at ACG, 48 N Pearl St, Downtown Albany, NY.
This program series is part of ACG’s on-going efforts for additional programs for adults and activating “After Hours” evenings. Come downtown and move with us!

Rhythm as Memory: An Introduction to Afro-Diasporic Drumming and Dance
An immersive one-hour introduction to West African and Afro-Cuban drumming and dance traditions. Rooted in the rhythms of the diaspora, this interactive session blends live drumming, movement, and cultural storytelling, inviting participants to experience rhythm as a living form of cultural memory.
