The Amish Outlaws

City Winery Hudson Valley presents The Amish Outlaws on Friday, January 8th, at 7:30 PM.

It is a little-known fact that most Amish practice a tradition similar to Christian “Confirmation” and Jewish “Bar Mitzvah” called “Rumspringa” (literally, “running around”). At age 16, Amish children have an opportunity to live free of the strict Amish code of conduct before deciding whether they want to return and be baptized into the Amish church.
