Explore character, expression and visual storytelling while gaining foundational drawing and painting skills through pet portraiture. Working from personal reference photos, participants will learn basic proportions and drafting techniques, followed by a lesson on values, value mixing, and eventually color mixing. Over the two sessions, participants will complete one pet portrait in acrylic paint ready for framing. All materials will be provided, and all skill levels are welcome.
David Globerson is an award-winning children’s book illustrator, painter, and educator with expertise in both traditional media and digital painting. As a graduate of the Hartford Art School, David has been creating custom artwork for over a decade. From his home studio in Upstate New York, he works in watercolor, acrylic, and digital media to bring a wide range of subjects to life—whether it’s a loyal dog, a mythical beast, or a scene pulled from pure imagination.
