The Nighthawks – 9/22

Legendary blues and roots rock band THE NIGHTHAWKS is heading back to Syracuse September 22.

The current lineup for The Nighthawks:
- Mark Wenner: Vocals, Harmonica
- Mark Stutso: Drums, Vocals
- Sol Roots: Bass
- Dan Hovey: Guitar, Vocals

The Nighthawks began as an idea in Mark Wenner’s brain long before it became a band. Drawing on pre-1958 radio in Washington, D.C., they mixed blues, R&B, honky-tonk country, doo-wop, gospel, and rockabilly.

Mark returned to Washington in 1972 eager to start a work-every-night band based on American roots music. The original Nighthawks lineup solidified in mid-1974 with Mark Wenner, Jimmy Thackery, Jan Zukowski (bass), and Pete Ragusa (drums). The band toured extensively, opening for and playing with many blues and rockabilly legends.

In 2009 the band recorded live tracks for Sirius XM’s B. B. King’s Bluesville; these recordings were released as Last Train to Bluesville on RipBang Records. The CD won Acoustic Album of the Year at the Blues Foundation’s Blues Music Awards in Memphis in May 2011.

After 40 years, The Nighthawks are still having a Damn Good Time. And so will you. Listen up!

- The 443 is an intimate listening room with table service that seats 75 people.
- Most seats are sold as “Tables for Two” (each ticket admits two people).
- Limited single seats are available; single attendees may share a table with other single attendees.
- Multiple tickets purchased under the same name will automatically be seated together (up to 6 people).
- Requesting a specific table is a perk reserved for VIP Patron members.
- If anyone in your party needs special seating arrangements (walker, cane, service animal, wheelchair, low table requirement, or you want to be seated with another party), please email the venue after you place your order so arrangements can be made.
- All tickets are WILL CALL — no need to print anything, just give your name at the door.
