About
Matt Niedbalski is back with his monthly Jazz Night featuring a rotating lineup of featured artists and favorite collaborators. Enjoy music from the farthest throes of the jazz genre, from the classics you already love to originals you’ll fall in love with.
Tonight’s lineup features GNP, a jazz piano trio with Tyler Giroux on piano, Matt Niedbalski on drums, and Dylan Perrillo on bass. The trio has played together for several years, first performing at Speakeasy 518 in Albany, New York. They have since played as a stand-alone group and backed instrumental soloists and vocalists.
In 2020, the trio recorded its debut album, “Codes,” featuring nine original pieces by Tyler, Matt, and Dylan, along with Gershwin’s “But Not For Me.” The album’s title refers to the musical communication and cues the group developed over years of playing together.
Since releasing “Codes,” GNP has performed at festivals and theaters around New York. A favorite moment was backing vocalist Sheila Jordan at the Québec Jazz in June festival. GNP released its sophomore album, “Returning,” on Signal Path Records in January 2025.
