The Dreaming Place with Chris Dingman, Vibraphone and Voice
Join acclaimed vibraphonist Chris Dingman, whose work was described by The New York Times as “hypnotizing,” for a trance healing music journey in the beautifully resonant space of The Living Room at Full Circle.
Chris plays the vibraphone—a unique and beautiful instrument—in a singular, virtuosic way, using waves and layers of sound along with his voice to bring listeners into a heightened meditative state where healing, connection, visions, and inspiration can occur.

About Chris Dingman:
An acclaimed musician across many genres, Chris has performed on the vibraphone for 25+ years, including with celebrated masters Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, and many others. He brings together this background with studies and influences from around the world to take listeners on a journey to a transcendent place.
Working in jazz, experimental, and world music for decades, Chris’s trajectory changed in 2018, when his father entered hospice. Chris played and recorded meditative music as an act of care for him in his final months. This music became the five-hour extended album Peace.
Since then, Chris has brought his healing music journeys to places including Omega Institute and The Rubin Museum of Art, and has created the online series Transformations and Transformations for Grief, music for mediumship, and more. His albums Journeys, Vol. 1 and Vol. 2, are described by The New York Times as “hypnotizing” and by Jazz at Lincoln Center as “absolutely beautiful.”
Chris has presented talks and performances at the Gold Foundation Conference on Humanism in Medicine, the American College of Physicians, and the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, and has written for the Johns Hopkins Medicine blog. He has been profiled by NPR, The New York Times, AMNY, and other publications, and has received fellowships and grants from Chamber Music America, New Music USA, South Arts, and the Thelonious Monk Institute.
