About the artist

Patricia Williams, aka Ms. Pat, is a comedian, author, radio host, podcaster, and actress. The Huffington Post declared her “the real hero of sitcom TV.” Her critically acclaimed multi-camera series The Ms. Pat Show, produced by Lee Daniels and Brian Grazer, premiered its fourth season in May 2024 and streams on BET+ and Paramount+; an edited version airs on BET. The series received Emmy nominations for “Outstanding Direction for a Comedy Series” in 2022 and 2023. Based on Pat’s real-life story of an inner-city drug dealer turned suburban mom, the show has been praised by The Hollywood Reporter as “Think Roseanne of the 1980s and 1990s, but even rawer.”

Pat’s overall deal with BET/Paramount Global includes producing, writing, and performing in scripted and unscripted projects. Under the deal, she debuted the weekly court show Ms. Pat Settles It on BET on October 18, 2023. She also hosts the comedy podcast The Patdown.

Her stand-up special Y’All Wanna Hear Something Crazy?, directed by Robert Townsend and executive produced by Wanda Sykes, is streaming on Netflix. The New York Times called it “superb material.”
