Locktoberfest

Locktoberfest is a celebration of the harvest season on New York State’s Canals, held in Historic Fort Edward on Saturday, October 17, 2026, from noon to 5 PM. The event features food, drinks, local products from area farms, food trucks, and a beer tasting tent. There are free activities for children and live music throughout the day.

Attendees can participate in the Fort Edward Family 5K, sponsored by Underwood Park CrossFit. The family-friendly run follows a route through Champlain Canal history. Registration details are available online.

Before the festival, the Champlain Canalway Trail will host a ribbon cutting and group bike ride, ending in time for participants to join Locktoberfest. The ride meets at the Fort Edward Empire State Trail Parking Lot in Mullen Park, 32 McIntyre St, Fort Edward, NY.

The event is supported in part by the NYS Canal Corporation, Erie Canalway National Heritage Corridor, the New York State Council on the Arts Statewide Community Regrant Program, and other local organizations.
