Marty McDermott

Marty McDermott was born in Brooklyn, NY, and grew up in Bayside, Queens, in a middle-class/working-class neighborhood filled with the textures, sounds, and sights of 1960s USA. He became interested in music at an early age and learned piano, but picked up a guitar as a teenager and was quickly seduced by rock ’n’ roll.

He played in several bands through high school and afterward, then took a long break for family and career commitments. He returned to the music scene in upstate NY by the late 1990s. Marty currently leads the Albany-based party/variety band The Reverberators, plays in the Americana band Far North, and performs as a solo artist and in various duos throughout the Capital District/Hudson Valley region.
