Albany Institute of History & Art holds extended hours for the city of Albany's popular First Friday program. Enjoy free gallery admission from 5–7PM, hands-on activities, and a pop-up bar.
August First Friday features a special performance by Arch Stanton Jazz!
Back by popular demand!
Arch Stanton Jazz was formed in 2009 and has performed at many festivals and other venues, including a State Department tour of Egypt in 2013. The band also has two well-received albums and has composed two suites connected to great literature, Invisible Man by Ralph Ellison and The Sheltering Sky by Paul Bowles.

Inspired by the photographs of the Church and Palmer families in Your Friend, Frederic E. Church, create a custom Gelli print using photographs and magazine clippings. Free with admission, all materials provided, and all experience levels are welcome.
