Birding in CNY

We welcome Fred Leff from the Montezuma Wetlands Complex to talk about the conservation program at the Audubon NY/CT Centers. Topics will include governmental conservation entities, Sandhill and Whooping cranes, and Onondaga Lake.

Fred had the opportunity to witness the Sandhill Crane migration in Nebraska, observing millions of birds flying north from New Mexico and Texas to breed in Canada, Alaska, and Siberia. He will discuss the biology of this migratory animal, along with other interesting facts.

A walk at Oneida Shores County Park will precede the talk on the same day, from 3:00 pm to 4:30 pm. For details and to register for the walk, visit: Birding in CNY - NOPL Bird Walk - NOPL Events - Northern Onondaga Public Libraries
