Poetry from the Land: Memory & Taste
Location
About
Join acclaimed author and storyteller Joseph Bruchac, Saratoga Springs’ former Poet Laureate and the city’s first to hold the role, for a poetry experience rooted in the beauty of Pitney Meadows. Drawing inspiration from the fields, forests, and shifting seasons, Joseph will lead participants in discovering how place can spark powerful, personal writing.
Open to ages 12 and up, this welcoming workshop is designed for all levels, whether you’re picking up a pen for the first time or returning to a longtime practice. FREE to attend, with a suggested donation.
Week Four: Food has a way of holding memory… of people, places, and moments in time. In this workshop, we’ll draw inspiration from the flavors of the season, using taste as a pathway into storytelling. As we reflect on the connections between food and memory, we’ll craft writing that is rich with detail, emotion, and personal meaning.
We encourage people to come to the whole six-part series to get the most enriching experience. This is not required, but suggested. Feel free to come to whichever ones you would like!
