About
When the Nashville Tennessean called both Johnny Winter and James Montgomery "legendary… blues masters of the first and highest degree," they weren’t exaggerating.
Harmonica powerhouse James Montgomery has been bringing it for over five decades. From learning the blues firsthand in Detroit alongside James Cotton and John Lee Hooker, to forming the red-hot James Montgomery Band in Boston (right alongside Aerosmith and J. Geils), Montgomery has lived the blues at the highest level.
He’s toured with Aerosmith, Bonnie Raitt, Bruce Springsteen, The Allman Brothers, and Steve Miller… jammed with B. B. King, Buddy Guy, Mick Jagger and more… and spent nearly six years in the Johnny Winter Band.
Grammy-nominated. Blues Foundation recognized. Touring member of The Blues Brothers. Still playing with authority.
He’s still out there with a killer band — keeping the blues loud, soulful, and very much alive. And bringing it all to the Barn 🎶🔥
