About

Born Troy Andrews, Trombone Shorty got his start (and nickname) earlier than most: at four he made his first appearance at Jazz Fest performing with Bo Diddley; at six he was leading his own brass band; and by his teenage years he was hired by Lenny Kravitz for the Electric Church World Tour. Shorty’s proven he’s more than just a horn player, though — he’s a natural born showman with undeniable charisma.

Since 2010 he’s released five chart-topping studio albums (most recently 2022’s Lifted); toured with artists from Jeff Beck to the Red Hot Chili Peppers; collaborated with Pharrell, Bruno Mars, Mark Ronson, Foo Fighters, ZHU, Zac Brown, Normani, Ringo Starr, and many more; and played major festivals including Coachella, Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, Newport Folk, and Newport Jazz. He’s performed four times at the GRAMMY Awards, six times at the White House, appeared on dozens of TV shows, and was honored at the Sesame Street Gala with his own Muppet. He also launched the Trombone Shorty Foundation to support youth music education and received a Caldecott Honor for his first children’s book.

In New Orleans, Shorty leads his own Mardi Gras parade atop a giant float crafted in his likeness, hosts the annual Treme Threauxdown shows (guests have included Usher, Nick Jonas, Dierks Bentley, Andra Day, and Leon Bridges), and has taken over the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival’s final set, closing out the gathering after performances by artists such as Neil Young, the Black Keys, and Kings of Leon.

Shorty also runs a cultural exchange trip to Cuba with the Trombone Shorty Foundation. The fourth trip will take place in January 2025 and includes special guest artists who join Shorty and his Foundation to host workshops and play concerts in Cuba over a five-day period, alongside nearly 100 students. These exchange programs have been featured on NPR and CBS Mornings.

Lifted, Trombone Shorty’s second release for Blue Note Records and his fifth solo LP, was released in 2022. Recorded at Shorty’s Buckjump Studio with producer Chris Seefried, the album channels the raw power and grooves of his live show and blends funk, soul, R&B, and psychedelic rock. The record features guest appearances including Gary Clark Jr. and Lauren Daigle, and contributions from the rhythm section of Shorty’s high school marching band.

Since Lifted’s release, Shorty and his band have appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, TODAY, Good Morning America, and CBS Mornings. He’s performed at the MusiCares pre-GRAMMY Awards gala, the Roots Picnic with Lil Wayne, on NPR Tiny Desk with Juvenile, and at the White House’s 2024 Juneteenth concert. His 2024 summer tour featured special guest Big Boi and included a stop at the Hollywood Bowl.

St. Paul & The Broken Bones are a powerhouse soul ensemble from Alabama known for electrifying live shows and impassioned vocals. Formed in Birmingham in 2012, the band includes:
- Paul Janeway (vocals)
- Jesse Phillips (bass)
- Browan Lollar (guitar)
- Kevin Leon (drums)
- Al Gamble (keyboards)
- Allen Branstetter (trumpet)
- Chad Fisher (trombone)
- Amari Ansari (saxophone)

Their new self-titled sixth album blends the band’s adventurous spirit with a return to soulful, song-focused roots. Recorded at FAME Studios and produced by Eg White, the record mixes psych-funk grooves, gospel-tinged ballads, and cinematic rock flourishes. Tracks like Sushi and Coca-Cola and Going Back reflect personal introspection and the band’s deepened identity after a decade of evolution. They’ve shared stages with The Rolling Stones, Lizzo, and Black Pumas, and played major festivals including Coachella, Glastonbury, Lollapalooza, and Bonnaroo. Elton John invited them to perform at his Oscar Party.

Tré Burt is a Nashville-based singer-songwriter with Sacramento roots whose music bridges folk, soul, and Americana. Signed to John Prine’s Oh Boy Records, he emerged with the album Caught It From the Rye (2020), a lo-fi, poetic debut. His follow-up, You, Yeah, You (2021), produced by Brad Cook, explored grief, justice, and renewal. In 2023 he released Traffic Fiction, a bolder blend of rock, dub, and soul that included field recordings of conversations with his late grandfather and was produced by Andrija Tokic. Burt’s forthcoming album, due in 2026, was entirely self-recorded, engineered, and mixed by him and finds him returning to his DIY beginnings with a raw, intimate approach.
