BYU brings its ballroom dance program to Ogden for a Monday night of spectacle, color, and motion that shines all the way to the back row. Thirty-two dancers move as one across the stage, and the whole show runs at the pace and scale of an international tour.

The evening is paced like theater. Big ensemble numbers fill the stage with pattern and color, and smaller moments drop down to a single pair on the floor. Some stretches hit at full speed. Others float. Sequined gowns and sharp tailcoats move under lights that catch every turn, and the whole production runs without asking anything of the audience except to lean in and watch.

The program started in 1960 and has grown into the largest collegiate ballroom program in the country. Its touring roster has played more than 35 countries, from a command performance for the Queen of Thailand to recent stops across Africa and Southeast Asia.
