2026 Milpa Kitchen Series: Tamales & Champurrado - NEW!
Location
About
In this final class of the Milpa Series, we celebrate the corn harvest by making tamales by hand using beans, chiles, herbs, and other vegetables harvested from the garden. Tamales have connected the milpa's harvest to generations of memory, nourishment, and community—especially during celebrations like Día de los Muertos. That same masa will also become champurrado, a warm, spiced chocolate drink, carrying the harvest into one more shared tradition.
About our instructor: Wendy is dedicated to educating people on how to prepare pre-Columbian/pre-Hispanic cuisine from the Americas, using fresh ingredients that are delicious, nutritionally balanced, and affordable. Her business, Prime Corn, offers gourmet meals that will change the way you think about Mexican food.
