About
Northlane have returned with new single ‘Rot’, their first release with new frontman Marcus Bridge.
‘Rot’ was produced via Skype by long-time collaborator Will Putney. It was written and recorded by Marcus, guitarists Jon Deiley and Josh Smith, bassist Alex Milovic, and drummer Nic Pettersen after a public audition process that drew almost 2,000 applicants. The 23-year-old singer from Sydney will join the band for a 21-show tour across Europe supporting Parkway Drive.
After touring the world twice over 18 months in support of their 2013 album Singularity, Northlane returned home for a sold-out tour in May and June. The album received J Award and ARIA Award nominations, as well as awards in the Short Fast Loud, Blunt Magazine, and The Racket end-of-year polls.
During a five-month break for rest and writing, frontman Adrian Fitipaldes left the band, citing mental and physical exhaustion. An open audition process began in September, and Marcus’ video audition caught the band’s attention. His talent, ideas, and attitude made him a natural fit.
After the Parkway Drive tour, Northlane will play the sold-out UNIFY Gathering in Victoria, then tour North America for six weeks with August Burns Red. They will then record their third album with Will Putney in New Jersey.
