The rise of young San Diego native ISOxo has been nothing short of electrifying. After shaking up the bass music scene with records like “Ground” and “Radial,” ISOxo launched into 2021 with “Stinger,” his massive collaboration with Sable Valley head RL Grime. The song quickly became one of the year’s most DJ-supported tracks and racked up millions of plays online.
Shortly after, ISOxo released his debut EP, “Nightrealm,” to critical acclaim from across the industry. Fans, press outlets, and artists hailed the EP as a masterwork and a breath of fresh air, proclaiming him an up-and-coming artist to watch. The record quickly garnered support from Skrillex, Alison Wonderland, Excision, and others.
Alongside his debut EP, ISOxo announced his debut headline show in LA, championed by tastemakers Brownies & Lemonade. The initial venue sold out in four hours and was moved to a bigger venue, which also sold out two weeks in advance. The impact was immediate: social media was ablaze with clips, chatter, and “fomo” as everyone saw the undeniable, frenzied energy of “Nightrealm.” The theatrical experience was designed wholly by ISOxo himself, from the visuals and set pieces to the costume changes and a set packed with IDs. Fans were drawn to the rockstar allure and begged for shows around the country.
Following his LA debut, ISOxo embarked on his sold-out, exclusive eight-stop Nightrealm Tour in 2022. He also made his festival debut at Hard Summer, bringing in a massive crowd and a surprise appearance from RL Grime. In addition to his set, he conducted a full Nightrealm stage takeover on the Corona Beach Stage, with direct support from Flosstradamus and Mr. Carmack, and an exclusive headlining set as ISOKNOCK III. That fall, he returned to LA at the Fonda, selling out within one hour and adding an additional day for fans who couldn’t secure tickets.
2023 has been a year of mystery for ISOxo, who went dark on socials following the announcement of his debut album during his Nightrealm Finale. The year kicked off with a surprise back-to-back set with Skrillex in his hometown of San Diego at OMFG. The two became close friends and collaborators, and clips of their collaborations have been appearing on social media, with both Skrillex and ISOxo offering glimpses of what they’ve been working on. ISOxo also made his debut at Ultra, Coachella, HITC NYC, and Electric Forest, with each set heralded as one of the weekend’s top three.
The stage is set for the highly anticipated album, “kidsgonemad!” Its first single, “dontstopme!,” came out July 21 via 88 Rising.
