Batik Workshop

Explore the bold color, layered pattern, and beautiful unpredictability of batik, a traditional wax-resist textile art technique. In this hands-on workshop led by longtime art teacher and beloved community fixture Julie Lewis, participants will learn the basics of applying wax to fabric, building a design through resist, and dyeing the fabric to create a one-of-a-kind batik bandana.

No prior experience is needed. Come ready to experiment, get a little waxy, and enjoy an evening of creative play in good company. All materials are included, so you only need to bring yourself and a willingness to try something new.
