About the Pacifica Quartet:
The Pacifica Quartet is Quartet-in-Residence at Indiana University's Jacobs School of Music and a multiple GRAMMY Award-winning ensemble. They are recipients of the Naumburg Chamber Music Award, the Cleveland Quartet Award, and an Avery Fisher Career Grant, and have performed at Carnegie Hall, Wigmore Hall, and the Kennedy Center. The New York Times praised their playing as "engrossing, characterful...with a luminescent tranquillity and spine-tingling intensity." The Telegraph called their recordings "...nothing short of phenomenal..."
This season the Quartet presented American Portraits with Sigourney Weaver, a program centered on two world-premiere commissions honoring Ruth Bader Ginsburg (by Jennifer Higdon) and Rachel Carson (by Gabriela Lena Frank).
