Some fairy tales ask you to wait for rescue. The Twelve is not that fairy tale.
Inspired by The Twelve Dancing Princesses, the musical follows twelve sisters in a kingdom where everyone is watched, ranked, and expected to perform perfection on demand. By day they smile for the cameras. By night they disappear, and no one can explain why their shoes are destroyed by morning.
When their nightly absences raise official suspicion, the kingdom wants answers. The sisters have a few questions of their own.
The story explores what happens when young people stop accepting the systems they have been handed and begin asking who those systems actually serve. The sisters are not fighting a monster. They are navigating a world that expects performance and perfection, and trying to figure out how to remain whole within it.
