Discover the magic of autumn at Garden After Dark: Adventures in Neverland, a family-friendly Halloween event at Red Butte Garden and Arboretum. Follow the tale of Peter Pan, Tinker Bell, and Captain Hook through glowing displays, interactive storytelling, and themed adventures throughout the garden.
Event dates: October 15–30
Hours:
- Weeknights (Mon–Thur): 6–8pm; last entry at 7pm
- Weekend nights (Fri–Sun): 6–9pm; last entry at 8pm
- Hocus Crocus All-Abilities Hour: 5–6pm on Saturdays and Sundays. This quieter hour is for families with young children or those with mobility, sensory, or processing needs.
Activities include searching for hidden pixie dust beads, exploring enchanted landscapes, outsmarting Captain Hook, and helping rescue Peter Pan before the Halloween celebration begins. Attendees will encounter botanical wonders and magical surprises along the way.
Performances by local artists include DJs, puppet troupes, storytellers, bands, and character actors portraying Captain Hook, Tinker Bell, and Peter Pan. Coffee, mini donuts, caramel apples, and garden souvenirs are also available. Vendors and performance dates may vary.
Costumes must be family-friendly. Full or partial face masks and full-coverage face paint are not allowed for guests ages 14 and older.
Location: Red Butte Garden and Arboretum, 300 Wakara Way, Salt Lake City, UT 84108. The main entrance is through the Visitor Center, with additional parking at the Williams Building at 295 Chipeta Way.
