The Salt Lake Book Festival takes place at The Gateway in Salt Lake City on Saturday, October 17, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. The main festival is free and open to the public, welcoming devoted readers, families, and anyone interested in stories—no prior literary background required.
Attendees can expect author conversations, panel discussions, book signings, and a curated market. Events will take place on multiple stages, including a roughly 400-seat main stage, a roughly 200-seat stage at Kiln co-working space, and a family-focused stage with story time for young readers. The festival aims to create an inclusive atmosphere for all ages and backgrounds.
Some programming and select stage events require tickets, including “The Prologue,” a special event on Friday, October 16, at the downtown library. Full ticketing details will be released as the event approaches. Tickets for panels or ticketed sessions can be reserved online.
