Adventure into Alta’s Past.
Join the Utah State Historic Preservation Office and Utah Cultural Site Stewardship (UCSS) for a guided hike through Grizzly Gulch, where Alta’s rich mining history comes to life. Led by Utah’s State Historic Preservation Officer, this journey will uncover remnants of historic mines and share stories of the resilience and ingenuity that helped shape the Alta we know today.
This 3-mile hike features moderately technical terrain and an elevation gain of about 1,000 ft. While we’ll take plenty of time to explore and discuss the area’s past, this event is best suited for those with intermediate to advanced hiking experience. Registration required.
