Join us the week of Veterans Day for a celebration of American music!
The program will include powerful patriotic classics like "America the Beautiful" and "My Country, 'Tis of Thee," songs celebrating traditional American musical styles such as spirituals and folk hymns, and works by American composers such as George Gershwin, Leonard Bernstein, and Aaron Copland. Popular American choral arrangers, such as Elaine Hagenberg, Dan Forrest, and Moses Hogan, will also be featured.
Musical highlights include:
- "Deep River" (spiritual)
- "My Song in the Night" (folk hymn)
- "Somewhere" from West Side Story
Join us in commemorating 250 years of America with a celebration of the music that makes us unique!
Presented by SCERA Chamber Singers, a 25-member adult audition choir, directed by Miriam Burton.
