Coptic Bookbinding with Rebecca Pletsch
Location
About
Join artist Rebecca Pletsch for a hands-on workshop to learn Coptic bookbinding, a traditional technique known for its decorative stitching and open spine. Participants will assemble a handmade book from start to finish: making covers with colorful papers, organizing pages into signatures, and binding everything together with linen thread using the Coptic stitch. Colored leather tape will be woven into the binding for a decorative touch and added durability.
Choose your own cover papers, thread, and leather colors to make the book uniquely yours—perfect as a heartfelt holiday gift or to use as a journal or sketchbook in the new year.
This workshop is suitable for all experience levels. All supplies are provided. RSVP is required; tickets are free.
