Join Weber State University professor and artist Alix Twiggs Wright for a hands-on sewing and embellishment workshop focused on repurposing clothing and fabric items. Bring a piece of clothing, a bag, or another fabric item you’d like to refresh, and learn how to transform it using fabric and sewing techniques. Tote bags will be available to customize if you don’t have an item to bring.
Participants will learn basic sewing and embellishment skills using sewing machines and fabric, experiment with design ideas, and take home a personalized, updated piece. The workshop also explores how repurposing can be a creative and sustainable alternative to buying new items.
